premiere: 16 Februrary 1957, Warsaw

The second staging of The Dybbuk performed in Yiddish in communist Poland. The performance was directed by Moses Lipman, who featured as Sender from Brinitz in a film by Michał Waszyński. The performance was created following the return of Abraham Morewski from the Soviet Union. Abraham Morewski played the role of the Tzadik in the 1920 staging by the Vilnius Troupe and in Waszyńskiʼs film shot in 1937. The performance was restaged on 5 December 1960 and remained in the Ester Rachel Kamińska State Jewish Theatreʼs repertoire until Morewskiʼs death in 1964.
