Teatr Szkarłatna Maska (Scarlet Mask Theatre)

premiere: 29 May 1925, Warsaw
Jasna Street no. 3
language: polish

The first staging of The Dybbuk performed in Polish in Warsaw, in a three-act version, prepared by Marek Arnstein for assimilated Jews. The film director Wiktor Biegański (1892-1974), who played Khanan, started to screen the Polish version of The Dybbuk as early as 1925, but the works on the film did not go further than the screen tests.

Wojciech Brydziński (tzadik), Ewa Kunina (Frade), Zofia Mysłakowska (Lea); below is an excerpt from Jakub Apenszlak's review.
