The first staging of The Dybbuk in Polish created 45 years after the Holocaust. The action of the performance was taking place against the background of the Jewish cemetery in the Cracow districts – Kazimierz, with the help of Joseph Bar-Joseph and Hanan Snir. Andrzej Wajdaʼs (1926-2016) staging was transmitted to the small stage of the National Habima Theatre in Tel Aviv. Its Hebrew premiere took place on 15 May 1988 in Jerusalem as part of the Israel Festival.
