The reconstruction of Chewel Buzganʼs staging prepared after his death in 1971 by Szymon Szurmiej, who took over the artistic direction of the Jewish Theatre in Warsaw. In 1979, director Stefan Szlachtycz and cinematographer Zygmunt Samosiuk, created a one hundred minutes colour television film based on this staging, supplemented with Polish subtitles; the film was not broadcast during the communist period.
